As Fabio and Grooverider call it quits on their Radio 1 residency, the folks who fired them look back at their careers as well as the history of drum’n’bass (which essentially is the same anyway). Fucking dons. Same for this chap.
Little feature I did for JUICE a while back about The Fugees. Mostly written on a Palo Alto parking lot.
Little review of that second Burial album I did a while back for German pop culture magazine, Spex. Had to think about it when ‘Raver’ came on on my running playlist today.

The great man Mannie Fresh sits down with the Chairman to spill the beans on bounce, brass bands, beats, MC Gregory D, life after Cash Money, and why one should never go to college (sort of).
Btw, the same night he played a DJ gig at the Howlin’ Wolf during which he brought out Gregory D, went into loose interpolations of Marvin Gaye songs, engaged in hilarious rants about “all his oral sex people”, busted some dance moves to BBD’s “Poison”, and adlibbed some other cat’s DJ set that mainly consisted of Waka Flocka dance remixes and ultra-obscure bounce stuff.
Well, that’s maybe because I don’t know that much bounce stuff, at least not as much as I should know.
